Hadiya Pendleton is a 15-year-old teen, who had the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform at a second inaugural event for President Obama, has tragically lost her life.
She was shot in a South Side park after taking an exam and following early release from her school, King College Prep High School in Chicago. She was shot in the back while trying to escape the rain.
She and a male teen, who was injured, collapsed in front of upscale homes on Oakenwalk Avenue. –yvette caslin
