Cissy Houston will be remembering her daughter this weekend, but it won’t be at Clive Davis‘ annual pre-Grammy bash. She tells Access Hollywood that the music guru sent her an invitation to the party — Whitney Houstonwas to attend the party the day she died — but the elder Houston calls the gesture “the most obscene thing.”

“I don’t know why they would want me to come to the party in which she died, you know? Unheard of,” she tells Access Hollywood at the unveiling of wax figures of her daughter at Madame Tussaud’s Thursday. “I guess maybe he just sent me a copy for remembrance’s sake.” But the singer’s brother Gary and his wife Pat, her former manager, say they will attend because Davis was so important to Whitney’s career.

It’s unclear whether Whitney’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, who recently Twitter-flamed her grandmother over Cissy’s new memoir, was invited as well or will attend.

Houston actually died hours before the Feb. 11 party, accidentally drowning in the bathtub of her Beverly Hills Hotel suite. The autopsy says cocaine use and heart disease contributed to her death.

CBS will air an hour-long special about the scramble to honor the singer at the 2012 Grammys tomorrow night, featuring behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with Jennifer Hudson, Bruce Springsteen and others. “The Grammys Will Go On” will air at 9 p.m. The Grammy Awards are Sunday night at 8 p.m. on CBS.
