Jovan Belcher’s mother reportedly told authorities that her son went on his murderous rampage after his live-in girlfriend told him that he was not “necessarily” the father of her child.

The Kansas City Chief shot his girlfriend to death and then committed suicide. Cheryl Shepherd, who resided with the couple, told police that the final argument was about the child’s paternity. Shepherd told police that after Belcher shot Perkins nine times, he kissed her and his 3-month-old daughter goodbye before he went to commit suicide.

A police source told the New York Post: ‘The implication was that paternity was what the two of them were fighting about — that the baby might not have been his.’
